Bug Lover Seeks Same

I’m a divorced professional seeking an LTR, and possibly marriage, and possibly children, (I have none.) I have a secure and generous income as a tenured professor – I teach biology and entomology. I also enjoy research-related travel a few times each year to exotic places, and I like having someone with me rather than traveling alone. For instance, this year I went to the islands of Bali and Lombok. Had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return – the crickets there are especially nice. I’m 50 years old, tall, thin, healthy, educated, liberal, spiritual but not religious, non-smoker, social drinker, and I like animals.
I’ve been having a little trouble finding a compatible mate because it’s hard to find women who accept, not to mention enjoy, my research area: entomology – I study bugs. But even harder still is finding a woman who shares another interest of mine: entomophagy – I eat insects and arachnids, (bugs and spiders). Yes, you read that correctly, I am an entomophagist. At first I reacted to that idea the same way that most people do: Yuck! I remember coming across several bins of deep fried insects at a market in Bangkok and feeling queasy. (See below.) But my extensive travels have allowed me to experience the diets of many cultures, to sample some of the exotic insect dishes, and to gradually come to like many of them. The fact is, insects generally have a higher food conversion efficiency than more traditional meats, and they are also a very good source of essential amino acids. Some of my favorites are grasshoppers, crickets, termites, ants, grubs, moth caterpillars, tarantulas, and scorpions. Did you know that most of you are already entomophagists? You are if you eat honey.
I don’t eat only insects, or even eat them every day, but I do eat them frequently. I have several recipes and enjoy experimenting with new ones. I would love to find an open-minded, scientific-minded woman who might want to explore the wonderful world of insect consumption with me, and well as travel around the world with me.
