Moe Noodleman’s Survival Technique: Hide From the Kitten

You would think that such a soft and lovable kitten would be too cute to gain a tarnished reputation so early in life, but you would be wrong. When it comes to cats vs kittens, the kitten will always come out on top of any situation that she creates.

Our ‘Moe Noodleman’has developed such a talent for disappearing that David Copperfield would be jealous!

‘SpiceGirl’ and I have looked all over the house to see where ‘Noodleman’ goes…I know he’s found a place to hide in, but I’ll be darned if I can find it!

And so far, ‘SpiceGirl’ hasn’t found it, either, which I think is his main objective.

‘Noodleman’ is just like any three-year old cat…playing with kittens is fine but only for so long because these little ones just don’t take ‘no’ for an answer.Kittens become a pain in the neck…or in the tail… very quickly.

For example, my husband and I have witnessed the following:

‘Noodleman’ was sleeping quietly on our bed when, from out of nowhere, a flying white blur sailed through the air…landing squarely on top of his head!

After climbing up onto the computer desk,’SpiceGirl’ sat patiently on the keyboard…and then pounced onto ‘Noodleman’s back as he unknowingly strolled by!

‘Noodleman’was sitting calmly in our rocking chair when suddenly a little white ‘dive bomber’ flew through space, hit the chair’s back, and promptly ejected Big Brother halfway across the room!

‘Noodleman’ was napping on the couch with his tail dangling over the edge…and ‘SpiceGirl’ decided to play ‘get the snake’!

‘Noodleman’ was laying down inside a box only to find himself suddenly having to put up with double occupancy!

“Our kitty is certainly on the ’short end of the stick’, ” I told my husband last night. “What stick?”, he replied. “That Little White Terror probably ate it!”

“You know, though,” I said thoughtfully. “Bringing ‘SpiceGirl’ home was probably one of the best things we could have done. Do you remember how ‘Noodleman’ usually just kept laying down when it was time for me to go to work? Now he walks me to the door! He’s become very affectionate lately”.

“That’s not affection, Honey. He’s trying to see if he can slip out the back and find a quieter home to live in!” my husband retorted.

“Well, at least he isn’t acting like an old man anymore…now he does a lot more playing and jumping around than he did a few months ago. He’s acting more youthful”!

“Baby, that’s not youthfulness…it’s nerves. Why, the other day I accidentally dropped one of my shoes while getting ready for work, and that poor cat leaped so high that I thought he was going to pin himself to the ceiling”!

After carefully considering my husband’s words, I think I’ll just let ‘Noodleman’ hide in peace. After all, it’s not going to last forever…

‘SpiceGirl’ is still looking!!

you know what bugs me? the fact that you refer to the names of your cats like this ‘Noodleman’, as though it isn’t his real name.

Hi, Ross. You know, I’ve been wondering if I should be doing that since I’m sure the readers can surely figure out a name from the rest of the sentence. After all, when writing about my husband, I don’t use ‘Mike’…I just type in his name. So I’m going to stop doing this. In all honesty, it was starting to bug me, too.
