Can Anyone Make Their Own Computer?
Getting in the mood to build a new one!
In anything new that we do there is an initial fear – or maybe there isn’t. For me there is because my imagination go’s into overdrive. There is a mystery to it. There is a child inside a group of children screaming, ‘do not open the box!’
But I did and have done a number of times. In fact it’s fundermental. To maintain a computer, you have to clean it and to clean more of what you have to – you need to open it but you have to be sensible about it.
There is a thing called ‘form factors’ but this is no drama. It is basically a combination that have to fit together and let me make that clearer for you.
Say we have tap, and a bath but no water. You want a bath. The equation is wrong. The form factor is wrong. Why? Well, you cannot have a bath, without water…
You need the motherboard to fit into the case, you need the right cpu for the motherboard, you need the correct ram etc.
It takes a little bit of revising and historically putting in the fan can be tricky – also please note that the ram is the most static componant in a computer. Static is only ‘apparent’ when two elements are at two different values
So touch the metal part of the case alot and be sure to hold ram at the sides etc with your thumb and maybe middle finger.
Anyone of us can make a computer. Not actually make…but piece together. It takes time and you might stumble along the way but certainly don’t be afraid
Often you can save money this way, get a better system but research is king here. If I can do it – you can do it!
Building your pc can be stressful and suspence riddled but there is a lot of pride to be gotten out of it – the feeling that we don’t have to rely on anyone to tie our shoes for us. It’s power for everyone, if you try.
