Condoms, Tampons, and Naked People All by Age Nine

Looking back on my early life I can remmeber things that were probably never intended to be remembered. Some of it is sort of disturbing to me now that I am older because I understand what actually was going on. But mostly it is just plain funny if I think about it. After reading this I’m sure most of us can relate in one form or another.

It is funny how time will play tricks on a fellow.  Sometimes I remember for almost no reason at all things that happened to me at a very early age.  Yes they are all memories I’ve had most of my life, but time reveals them in new light and it sometimes sets me to wondering.

For instance, lets investigate bathing and showering.  As is common practice in my family and many others young children will oftentimes shower or bathe with adults.  It saves time and they can get two things done at once.  However, there should probably be more consideration taken into age limits on these things.  I’m not saying I showered with my relatives until my early teens or anything like that, but I know it still took place while I was around two and a half.  I remember it.  And it is slightly unsettling to remember seeing my aunt Janet’s pubic hair and my father’s seemingly monstrous gonads at eye level.

Didn’t seem wrong at the time, but I have these images with me for the rest of my life.  Do I have a slightly exceptional memory?  Maybe.  But I wish I hadn’t seen it nonetheless.  So be careful how old your child is when you let them see you naked.  Age two is probably a wise cut-off point.

LOL, Isn’t it amazing what kids remember. It might be even more amazing what my kids remember. I don’t think I want to know. Take care, Ruby
