There’s a lot more to ice cream than the few flavors we know.

The Japanese used their vivid imagination to add variety to everyone’s favorite dessert- Ice Cream!!

#1: Fish Ice Cream

Flavored with the Saury fish. Saury is a popular fish in Japan.

#2: Octopus Ice Cream

Japanese have many uses for Octopus, one being ice cream flavoring.

#3: Squid Ice Cream

How on earth did they get this idea?!

#4: Crab Ice Cream

Made by Hokkaido, the northernmost prefecture of Japan.

#5: Shrimp Ice Cream

Made by Roman Holiday, this ice cream tastes like most people imagine it will taste.

#6: Eel Ice Cream

Produced by Futaba. Eels are a summer delicacy in Japan

#7: Whale Ice Cream

Lots of people are against whale hunting, but that doesn’t stop the Japanese from coming up with yet another sea ice cream flavor: whale ice cream!

#8: Oyster Ice Cream

Are they creative or what?!

#9: Abalone Ice Cream

Abalone is commonly found in Japanese food, but who would have thought you could find it in ice cream?!

#10: Seaweed Ice Cream

Seaweed is healthy, so why not add it to a cup of ice cream?

There are more, I just haven’t added them here. Though I personally would prefer to stick to our normal flavors, I can’t help admiring their creativity! Maybe you would like to try one of these now??
