Greek Menu
What were they thinking when writing “Agglika” and “Germanika” in the menu?
Last summer we went with many friends to the Island of Thasos for vacations. After arriving to the island, we looked for a hotel to stay. After hours of searching we found a great hotel in Panagia of Thasos. Exhausted from the many hours of searching, we found a local tavern to eat. Searching the menu we came across to the famous “kleftiko”. We were all curious about what “kleftiko” was. So we found the page in which they described what kleftiko is…

Immediately we noticed the words “Agglika” and “Germanika” on the top of the page! English is Agglika in Greek and German is Germanika. According to the menu, the owner was capable of speaking English and German, but what was he thinking when typing Agglika and Germanika in the menu? I mean this was written for tourists who don’t speak Greek so that they can understand what the foods are all about, and by writing Agglika and Germanika, no tourist can understand what does it mean! And the weird thing is that noone has ever told the owner to correct it!
Take a close look at it!

Finally we ordered kleftiko and it was really good!
Liked it
