Funny Old Wives’ Tales About The Prediction of Baby’s Gender

In olden days people used to believe some old wives’ tales. There are many tales regarding the prediction of gender of baby. This is a list of some such beliefs. See, how hilarious they are.

1.   This is the craziest myth about having a girl child. If you would like to have a girl child, then put a pink bow under your pillow and a pair of scissors and a wooden spoon under your bed.

2.   If the pregnant woman is moody or having big, round belly or her face appears round then she will have a girl.

3.   The beauty of mother will be stolen by girl hence she appears not so beautiful as earlier, but if it is a boy, mother appears more beautiful.

4.   When a clove of garlic is eaten by pregnant woman and if her sweat does not smell of garlic, it is a girl.

5.   If anyone asks to show her hands and she shows her palms up, she will bear a girl child and if she shows palms down, it will be a boy.

6.   If the hands of a pregnant woman dry constantly or the hair on her legs grows rapidly fast or feet are getting colder or getting headaches frequently or the nose is growing wide then she will have a baby boy.

7.   If her urine color is bright yellow then she will give birth to a boy, if it is dull yellow then it is a girl.

8.   Mother appears graceful when bearing a girl child and clumsy in case of a boy.

9.   If the mother dreamt about having a girl child then it is a boy and if it is a boy then she will have a girl.

10.                 If she prefers to lay on her right side it is a girl, it she prefers on her left side it is a boy.

    good list. BTW my late father recommended that I do #10, actually my first two kids are girls and since my dad wanted that I gave him a grandchild so he asked me to do #10 did the trick. Guess it’s just pure coincidence.

    Those are crazy myths about the gender of a child and got a giggle out of me.Its hard to believe they were actually believed at one time or another.
