Adventures of a Married Man – Change of Plans

Another episode of The married man. He tells his stories based on real life events. If you are a married man, it will probably sound familiar.

The feel of September baseball whistled through the afternoon air. He sat in his favorite living room chair elated at his team’s triumph. Wondering to himself why he hadn’t been to the ballpark all year, he quickly recalled a television spot advertising ticket availability for tomorrow’s series finale against the division opponents. The mortgage was paid for the month. The refrigerator was fully stocked. He carefully calculated the budget over in his mind and figured it was well within him financially to afford to see the game live tomorrow. With a youthfully spirited smile and a renewed spring in his step, he stood to make his way to the computer for an on-line ticket purchase.

She entered the front door and stepped into the living room with such joy and excitement. “Hi, Honey. Wait until you see these new shoes I just bought!”

He thought for a moment. New shoes couldn’t have cost that much. He was pleased to see her treat herself to a nice gift. “That’s wonderful, Sweetheart.” He took another step towards the home office knowing he still had the funds for the game.

“And I just had to get this matching handbag. See how great they look together?”

He grabbed the TV Guide from the coffee table to be sure he knew what channel the game was on for tomorrow.

LOL! That is my idea of perfect married life! You have such a talent for story telling. Do you ever write children stories? I think your imagination would produce some good ones.
