Communications with Teenagers and Kids
These are the most commonly used communications with teenagers and kids. They make no sense to them or us, but still we use them everyday as often as we can.
Wait A Second
Wait a second is greatly used by everyone, more so in children and teenagers. So the second has passed why haven’t you done what I told you to do ?…. I dont know… So are you going to do it then ?… Yeah give me a minute…. For fork sake child just do it I havent got a minute… And either do you…
Where Did You Lose It?
This often the first thing that comes out of our mouths when a child loses something…. Dad/Mom I lost my phone and I dont know where it is… So where did you lose it ?…. don’t you think they would have it if they had this information, but yet we still ask. Funny that isn’t it…
A Nine is a Six Upside Down
Annoying isn’t it… ever told by your child that you are annoying… to keep wrecking their heads reply by saying.. A nine is a six upside down… this baffels them for a second until the penny drops in their heads, and because of their delayed reaction you could pull that on them too… this remark usually shuts them up…
Sorry
You could get at your child and make them feel really bad about doing something they did…. Mom I’m sorry I will never do it again… sure how could you be sorry, if you were sorry you wouldn’t have done it in the first place, would you… I’m more disappointed than angry with you.. get out of my sight… Instant winner the child goes away thinking that you are really a six upside down with them…
Spread Out in a Bunch
As dumb as this sounds to us most children or teenagers won’t notice that you said spread out in a bunch. Only the smart kids will cop on to this fact, they are usually the ones still looking at you, every one else will be taking off in different directions… If you want to see who has the smartest kid at a birthday party gather them all around explain to them really slowly that you want them to spread out in a bunch, then yell ready ? spread out in a bunch… I gaurentee that there will be one kid standing there and you better hope its yours.
What or Huh ?
Why do kids and teenagers say what everytime you say something to them even though they heard you the first time…. I need you to do something, I need you to go down the road and get your sisters bike from her friends house she left it there…. What ? I need you to go down and get your sisters bike from her friends house… Oh right okay where does her friend live ? at the end of the road last house on the left…. What ?…. For God sake child, you asked me a question, you were looking at me, and you still didn’t hear what I said.. your unbelievable… And they all do it… Huh ??
I CANT BELIEVE YOU JUST SAID THAT
Children and teenagers will say anything in front of any body, so you will have to watch what you say around them. They will string you up at family gatherings and communil get togethers. Make sure you dont tell them how you feel about a particular neighbour or family member. Even if you forgot that you said it and you were in a different state of mind saying it, your child will say it to them without any regard. Be warned…

Very funny and well written, thanks for lifting my spirits as a parent.
Love it! We used to call my daughter (the one who got married yesterday) the walking newspaper.
I’ve never heard anyone say ’spread out in a bunch’!
