Economic Depression
Excuses to my lack of exercising and over eating in this economic depression. A humorous take at why I blame the economy.
I blame the economy for my lack of exercising and for my bad eating habits. Why do I do this? Well everyone else is blaming the economy for loss of jobs, lack of jobs, no salary increases, cutbacks, and the dreaded war! I figured I get myself on the band wagon and blame it as well. If we don’t have a sense of humor we’ll end up being bitter and angry which leads to stress which by the way causes hair loss, migraines and all sorts of health issues, and let’s not forget road rage.
So as I watch mindless television with my bag of Doritos and cold beer in hand, I realize I should be doing my sit-ups or drinking one of those healthy yogurt thingies…but I convince myself that a bag (or two) of Doritos with several beers won’t hurt me as bad as the economy has done. Now that was three days ago, today I had to eat two cups of ice cream because one was not enough and this way I could beat the expiration date on the carton because as you know the economy is bad and it would be wasteful to throw out food once it expires.
I’m not always bad with my eating habits. Really I’m not. Just the other day for lunch I held back and only ate two boxes of those healthy choices dinner instead of my usual three. I had to save one for the next day which was a Friday and I usually have to replenish my beer supply for the evening. As a matter of fact I’ve been adding vegetables and fruits to my diet. A few days ago, I added a banana to my third cup of chocolate overload flavored ice cream and if pineapple syrup counts as a fruit, it was in there. As if I wasn’t feeling bad enough about consuming so much sugar, here comes the breaking news at eleven. Once again the Dow went down, the Chinese market refused to get up in the morning and now I had another reason to blame the economy.
All joking aside, I really don’t understand the logic behind counting calories and carbs. I still haven’t figured out if that’s some sort of mind game to distract us. I mean by the time I find my glasses to be able to read the small print on the cartons or packages and then try to do the math to figure out how much of the bag and or carton I can eat and still stay within my daily recommended allowance of calories, I’m either going to put the carton away out of frustration or just plain eat the whole thing.
Now the next time you reach for that Funny Bone (my favorite) or those chocolate chip cookies and finish off that bottle of wine, don’t worry….Eat and be merry for the economy is eating our savings away!
