How to Cure a Hangover

Never feel ill again after a night out on the town.

Have I found the cure for a common hangover?

At last! the weekend is here again. The bills are paid out of a tiny wage slip and a conformed splash out has gone towards some hefty tax bills to help run the country. The texts and phone calls have flooded in and arrangements for a crazy night out with friends will diminish the little disposal income that is left.

You need a night out, “In fact you deserve a night out”.

The choice of intoxication from the alcohol menu is desirable, thus offering a more complete sensation with every sip. An overpowering confidence turns to dancing, talking and drinking even more liquor. This motion of interaction has been the norm for decades and offers us a moment of escape from societies complexities.

“I think, or maybe its just another way to get some more tax out of us”.

Its not until you start making the wobbled way home you realise, maybe it’s going to be a slow struggle the next day. The dreaded hang over is upon the tinkered soul. Hitting the sack with the room spinning violently makes a drunkard pass out or possibly reach for the toilet ring. Some of us advanced mortals have even learned to stick a foot on the floor. A great alternative for stopping your eyes rolling from one side of the ceiling to the other.

If you haven’t thrown up already you probably will in the morning. The sunny day of tomorrow is here already but its started with a pounding head ache. You’re hurting, sweating, you can’t move, speak, or even tolerate the concept of thinking.

If only you knew what could have been done to prevent this self inflicted world of hurt.

The answer to the question my Friends is a very simple one.

A Garlic Cheese Pizza on the way home from the night out of drinking.

“Your talking rubbish!, I hear you think but please read on”.

It’s true. I myself have suffered badly from the pain of hangovers. It got so bad I actually decided to give up drinking at the weekend. When I did decide to drink I stuck to one type of drink through the night’s activities. The dreaded road to recovery did seem to be slightly quicker the next day.

Recently a friends birthday came up so I went out to celebrate. When the night came to a jolly end I was content with walking into the local takeaway outlet. A flicking light bulb penetrated a little sign for a garlic cheese pizza. Temptation set in so I decided to order one. The entire feast was gorged down in about ten minutes. It was about 12inches in circumference.

The next day I felt slightly groggy, but I had no hang over what so ever. It felt like a miracle. I went out again the next week and mixed my drinks and drank a few shots. I went to the same shop and ordered the same Garlic Cheese Pizza option. The next day – “NOTHING”.

I actually made a point of not having the same option one night and ordered a burger instead. But I can conclude I suffered badly the next day. I followed the Garlic cheese pizza routine after a recent night out and the next day was bliss. No hangover!

The Science Bit

Garlic contains phosphorus, potassium, calcium, protein and significant amounts of vitamins B & C which makes it an almost essential part of any diet. In addition, it contains Allacin which is a sulphur compound and has antibiotic and antifungal properties.

Garlic can stimulate the production of glutathione, an amino acid which is known to be a very potent antioxidant and de-toxifier and the smooth muscle relaxant – adenosine – also found in the herb, will lower blood pressure.

Cheese contains a high concentration of essential nutrients, in particular high quality protein and calcium, as well as other nutrients such as phosphorus, zinc, vitamin A, riboflavin, and vitamin B12.

The health benefits of bread can be measured on a large scale but if you interlink all the components of this available food source. it must be able to defuse the onset of the common hangover. The bread absorbs much of the alcohol in take, making it easier to digest. The cheese replaces lost energy sources and packs the body back up to sufficient levels of balance, while the garlic must stable the brains activity and stop the swelling effect of dehydration.

Conclusion

Eat a garlic cheese pizza after a night out on the drink. Maybe garlic offers many other secrets yet to be discovered.
