Money And What It Does To Us
Tells a tale of what money is and where it goes, with extra social commentary!
People today are obsessed with money. But why? Just what is money anyway? What is the true value of money?
Money is, as everyone knows, is something used to trade for goods or services. Banks live off it and we use it to run our dad to day lives. But why? Money is just that – something used to value something! And even though it has no useful qualities, such as:
1:You can’t eat it
2:You can’t drink it
3:It can’t be used to save your life
And yet ironically these things are needed for life! Most people spend their lives in pursuit of the $$$ or ???. But it won’t save you when you die. Banks, now banks aree the worst kind of money grabbing things ever invented. “Okay, we’ll take your money, put 10% in the vault and loan 90% of it out. Oh wait! But we’ll get that 90% back anyway with interest and the loaned money will end up in the bank anyway!”
Say I put in $1000 into a bank. The bank loans $900 of that to someone else, and gets it back almost straight away! So now, they have that $1000 back through the transactions that the customer will do! The $900 loaned will be used to fund, lets say an extension. You spend that money in wholesalers, and guess what? That $900 you bought bricks and mortar for went back into the bank! They made no loss! Than, that $900 again. $90 will be put in the vault and $810 will be loaned out again. After all that, and interest and such, someone put $1000 in Happy Bank. Happy Bank, after getting all the interest back, and supposing no-one took out the money, are $22000 richer!!!
That’s why banks are evil. In Ireland we have Credit Unions that take that extra money, and spend it on the community, as well as making loans with cheaper APR. Why should banks be so valuable when the only thing that they trade is other peoples money?
And the answer. Greed. “I want a fancy house with all the trimmings and swimming pool and a bigger back yard than the other guy”. When I was younger I could walk down the street and have a conversation with anyone. Today, it’s hard for people to even say “hi” to you because thay are so important. Why not try that? Next time you see somone walking down the street, just say hello to them. You make more friends and you should feel better about yourself. I do that and I don’t even care if they don’t reply. Here’s some examples of what you could say:
“Well!”
“Howareya”
“Hi”
“What’s the story?”
O.k maybe these are Irish examples but I hope you understand. Just because you have loads of $$$ in the bank does NOT make you better than anyone else. And if anything else, just say hi to anyone you meet! (Note: Actually don’t try this in a city, but try if you can.) Oh, and Banks = Evil.
