My Outstanding Track Record

Every once in a while I’m the one who’s right when my wife and I have a disagreement. This is a recap of the last time I was right and my record to date.

Last week my wife and I were off to the grocery store to buy several things. One of the items on the list was a bottle of Lava soap. We must have gone back and forth over if the grocery store had it or if I would have to make a trip out to the auto parts store later (considering Home Depot didn’t carry it).

Once we got there we split up to speed up some of the shopping. I went to the meat counter for some choice cuts for dinner. She went in search of sides, and the elusive Lava.

Catching back up with each other, my wife told me that she looked and looked and could not find any Lava, so I was going to have to go out again later. Our path to the checkout went right down the soap aisle, and she reiterated that she couldn’t find it and I could see for myself.

With one glance I spotted what I was looking for, and handed the bottle of Lava to her with a sly little grin and said something I’ve been wanting to say for ages: “I told you so.”

Without missing a beat my wife said, “You were right. I guess being right once in ten years isn’t too bad after all.”
