Pleasures of Life
What pleases one may not please the other.
Life’s journey is surely a mystery to all and what comes as a pleasure to one may certainly not be a pleasure to others:
Eating/Food in General
A lot of my ramblings bring food to the forefront. But honestly, all the choices, tastes and textures one can experience in our country or the next, surely is a pleasure in my book.
Hugs
Ahhh, the tender tightness of two arms. A hug can squeeze away pain or bring delight from a long separation. Hug someone, won’t you?
Roses
Receiving them or sending them is so simple yet makes a heartfelt statement. And so many statements can be made from a single color chosen: red = love, yellow = friendship, white = remembrance and so on. Send a dozen or even two.
Mani/Pedi
Treating yourself is one thing but to indulge in the dual action of the mani/pedi? What better way to be good to yourself for one hour for? Who knew pleasure could be bought for a mere $28?
Mothers
Not parents in general but just our mothers. Clearly all of us have one, maybe are one. The bond between mother and child is so unique, beautiful and this only from the inside looking out. I eagerly await the day when I will be the one looking in.
Music
One song, one note, one chorus can sweep you away to another time or place. A melody from a perfect and defining moment in your life that you can sing loudly in your shower or alone in your car. Music surely must have some medicinal qualities if it can tame a wild beast.
And last but not least,
A Brand New Bag
Not a paper bag or reusable eco-friendly designer grocer bag but something featuring the word Prada. Maybe something in a soft pebble grain leather with a modern twist on a classic short hand tote? The smell, the texture is almost intoxicating. No doubt James Brown was onto something when he sang Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag.
What brings pleasure to your life?

nice to read these about you, friend.
Nice list! Good friends also brings a lot of pleasure to life.
I agree with you. The things that gives us much pleasure need not be expensive, except for the bag, of course.
Ah, yes, it is the little things in life that count. My pleasure is my wife, pets, writing and just being alive.
Very true.
Kim, I appreciate your appreciation for life. I’d add coffee! Good coffee. Brian
