Ten Reasons for Not Making the Cheerleading Squads

Cheerleading is a popular activity in high school and in college. Millions of young women try out to make their school’s cheerleading squads. Unfortunately, not everyone is successful. Here are ten reasons that might keep you off the cheerleading team.

  1. During tryouts, the coach asks you to do the splits. You misunderstand what the coach said and think that you’ve been asked to split.
  2. You can’t remember the school’s song or the school’s mascot
  3. You stumble when you tumble. When you try a flying leap, you look like Dumbo.
  4. You’re asked to do a chant. You start off by saying, “Give me a P” and then you realize that you’ve got to go to the bathroom.
  5. You come to the tryouts wearing a rival squad’s outfit
  6. The coach asks you to be part of a pyramid. You ask, “What’s a pyramid?” You then add, “I flunked geometry.”.
  7. You wave the pom poms in the air and accidentally get one of the pom poms stuck in your hair
  8. The coach asks you to smile. You tell the coach, “I’m too depressed. My boyfriend just dumped me. I got detention for acting up in science class. My mom and dad just got divorced. What’s to cheer about?”
  9. You step on the lead cheerleader’s foot while trying to perform a dance number
  10. You go to cheerleader trial holding a Whopper in one hand and a bag of fries in the other
