The Dreaded Weekly Shop: Can You Handle It?
The challenges faced when doing your weekly shop.
The Car Park
Brace yourself for the race for the space. I find that my children make good space spotters either from the back of the car or getting out the car and making a run to stand in a space. Also if supermarkets had more car parking spaces we would not have to ride round the car park 10 times which could reduce carbon monoxide emissions.
The Shopping
Firstly, why do I always end up with the trolley where only three wheels work. Trying to navigate the three wheeled trolley without hitting somebody else’s trolley, or running over their feet is totally impossible. And why is it that when I get to the checkout I realise that I have forgotten to get dog food, toilet roll, bleach etc.
The Checkout
Why is it that the person at the check out that I have chosen is in full scale conversation with a customer who has finished her shopping but refuses to let the conversation finish. Five minutes later I am ready to scream and by this point I have lost the children. Eventually I get though the check out after only having a split yoghurt and a dozen cracked eggs replace by another shop member.
Filling Up the Car with Shopping
This is a dangerous operation as you try to fill the car with your shopping as quickly as possible as there are people in cars revving their engines waiting for this space This can be scary as they watching your every movement and willing you to hurry up.
I think I should try online shopping!
