Trillion with a T

How to spend 10.2 trillion dollars.

You may have read what you can do with 700 billion dollars and thought wow that’s a lot of money. 700 million dollars is chump change compared to the deficit of over 10.2 trillion dollars.  You thought 700 billion was excessive just think about 10.2 trillion.  Here are some things you might want to do.

Buy Some Land

With 700 billion dollars you really had to be a little selective about what countries you wanted to buy.  With 10.2 trillion your buying power has increased tremendously.   The GDP of the entire world is 54.6 trillion so you could buy around a fifth of the world.  You can definitely buy any country you want except the United States.    But really why would you want to a buy a country with that much debt anyway.

Get Some New Wheels

If you’re in the car market and your looking at something a little cheap you could buy 680 million Honda Civics.  Each one is about 14 and half feet long, so if you parked them all back to back it would take up 10,030,000,000 feet.  The world is 131,479,725 feet which means your brand new cars would go around the world over 76 times.  Talk about a traffic jam.

Donate to Charity

If your feeling generous you could give a dollar a day to all 6.6 billion people on the planet for about 4 years and three months.  It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

Flaunt Your Wealth

The top 10 richest people in the world have a combined total wealth of over 430 billion dollars.  This means for every 1 dollar they have you have 24.  Who said money doesn’t grow on trees?

Spend A Day on the Lake

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid floats around in “Dubai” a 300 million dollar yacht.  He probably wouldn’t like it if he saw your brand new fleet of 34,000 yachts the size of his on the lake.  It might be difficult to find 34,000 people to drive your yachts.

Go House Hunting

Roman Abramovich just purchased a 500 million dollar house near the Monte Carlo.  You could build house 20,400 times the size of his.  That’s a lot of bathrooms.
