My Favorite Funny Songs From Youtube

These little songs give me a pick-me-up for getting my day started.

I’ve always loved amateur music.  Yes, there is good stuff out there that is professionally produced, but after a while it all seems to run together and sound alike.  So much of the current repertoire of most radio stations is sad, angry, noisy or whiny.  Some days I’m just not up for any of that…and apparently there are others who feel the same way.

I first met this genre when my roommate’s mom sent a card featuring the “Hampster Dance”.   Well, as they say, one thing leads to another.  Turns out there are about a zillion version of the Hampster Dance on the web.  Here is one that I like:

As I was writing this I wanted to show a little history.   So I typed in “Original Hampster Dance”, and guess what turned up!  Boy, was I surprised!

Still that wasn’t quite what I was looking for.  Here’s one of the earliest versions to show up on the web:   http://lee.org/reading/general/Hampsterdance/

And here’s another cute one.  Nothing like a good rain dance to get a dry morning going!

There’s only just much dody-oh-doe-doe that one can take first thing in the morning, no matter how fun it is, so one day I typed in “funny videos” and found the Gummy Bear Song!  Here is the first version I found:

This one gave me a real chuckle, so I was thrilled to find a longer version in English:

Now, if you are thinking that this is somewhat inappropriate, I’d have to agree.  Again, I can’t take this to school.  And having an energetic young man running through the house (yeah, he knew that was inappropriate, too) singing Ring-dingy-ding is annoying to say the least.  But look at this next take on that rotten frog:

Ever wonder how some of this stuff gets started?  I get the feeling that this little dramatization shows how crazy/fun things are contagious and spread like wildfire.

Of the three, Gummi Bear is probably my favorite.  So here is an ending for this article:
