Anybody Know a Good Recipe for Cat Stew?
It’s a really good thing that cat is cute…
OK, I’m not quite mad enough to make cat stew out of her (no cats will be harmed in the writing of this article, for now anyway).

Yes, hide under the table and look cute for the camera, but you know you are guilty, little Zinger.
Zinger had been digging in the plants, so I put both of my surviving house plants up on stands that I didn’t think she could jump up high enough to get into, but she has ways, that evil little feline miscreant. She managed to jump from the window sill to my amaryllis, which was literally down to its last leaf.
I was vacuuming up that mess this morning, and that left my Parkinsonian body shaking and exhausted. So I went back to my bedroom to make a phone call, and I heard another crash from the living room. My aloe vera plant was overturned and the cat was happily digging in the pile of dirt and roots on the floor.

I don’t have the strength to tackle that mess now, but Hubby is coming home for lunch. In the meantime, Zinger is in the laundry room. I can hear her clawing at the door. Claw at the door all you want. I have no pity on you. It really is a good thing she is adorable and the most affectionate cat we have ever had. Otherwise I would be Googling cat stew recipes right now.

Yes, hide your face in shame, you naughty kitty! (OK, so this is a picture that I took a couple of weeks ago of Zinger sleeping, but it kind of looks like hiding her face in shame, doesn’t it? She is cute, isn’t she? Drat!)

Some Cats, are just not into litter trays Karen… my step daughter has the same problem, with bob cat, and the plants cheers
I have a similar problem w dogs. Except that they dig large holes first, which prompts us to put plants in the holes (5 gallon plants, mind you, with extra dirt), and then they dig at the plants. I’ve tried a bunch of things: putting their own poo in the holes, hiding treats in an acceptable digging area, sprinkling black pepper, sprinkling chili pepper flakes, hot sauce, burying balloons, scolding them–all to no avail. Finally, I laid down heavy stepping stones around the base of the plants. It doesn’t stop the digging, but at least it saves the plants.
Nice eyecatching title, by the way. I hope you don’t end up needing the recipe… She’s soooo cute!
I always laugh when cats are in the “preschool” to “teenager” time period. They are so naughty and curious. Fortunately, they outgrow it quickly and become “nice” kitties! Great story and pics!!
Im sure nobody would keep pet cats if they were not so darn cute. Sorry about the plants! I feel bad suggesting you put them high up.
I think you need to get some cat grass growing for her to satisfy her plant needs.
You are so funny, Karen. I always know I shall have a laugh when reading your more humerous posts because you are so witty. I am surprised the cat has lived this long.
You’re right she does look as if she is hiding her face in shame. Animals can’t live without them and we can’t eat them. Cute story. You told it well.
Cats have a vegetable need too so Brenda might be right, some kitty grass or wheat grass might be good. They also love to climb. I tried everything to keep one of my cats out of my plants from moth balls to black pepper. lol She would chew on them.
Too funny Karen.
very funny nicely written
If there are hot dogs, there ought to be cold cats.
Cute cat. Anyway, I hope you won’t be making cat stew in the future
You kitten is very adorable… That is why many people including myself love them. If only your cat could read this, it would perhaps it was “zingered”…. Very enjoyable read.
