A fake conversation between George Bush and Julius Caesar.

Julius Caesar: So Bush, I understand that you say that the reasons why Rome fell, such as inflation, are happening in the US.

President Bush: Yes. Scientists claim that my country is on a slow decline by the same reasons why your country fell. I am asking you for advice on what to do about this.

Julius Caesar: The days that Rome was on decline were terrible. I will try my best to help you help the US stay strong, but I will not offer you the best ways to get out of this situation.

President Bush: Thank you very much Caesar. I hope your advice will save the country. Now my first questions is what should I do about foreign invasions?

Julius Caesar: The reason why Rome fell to invasions was because our land was so expansive that we did not have enough men to protect every border. I would advise you to get enough troops to protect the borders of the states. However, do not invest too much money into that. Another reason why we fell was because we spent too much money on the military. If you can’t get enough men to serve, try focusing the defense on borders that have been attacked the most, or put them in important cities. Still, you must always have some men on every border.

President Bush: What if the enemy makes it through the borders?

Julius Caesar: Remember what I said, I will not be able to help you with every question. I am very sorry.

President Bush: Don’t worry, I’ve got enough information on this topic. My next question is how can I stop the decline in morals and values?

Julius Caesar: Decline in moral and value basically means that the public is influenced by violent things, such as T.V. shows. I would cancel only the most violent shows. If you cancel all violent shows, you’ll mess up half the advertisement industry. It doesn’t matter if its real, staged, or a harmless cartoon. If its considered very violent, it must go. Video games, too. It should be law that younger children aren’t allowed to play mature rated video games.

President Bush: I agree that we should enforce a law on “M” rated games. However, if I enforce that law, I will slice the electronic entertainment industry in half.

Julius Caesar: If it saves the states, its worth it.

President Bush: Thank you very much, Caesar. Now the next topic is: Inflation.

Julius Caesar: Yes, I can see a lot of inflation in the US. The first is, of course, gas prices. I understand oil is hard to get for the US, but it is not the only thing that can power cars.

President Bush: I can see that. Hydrogen is a good fuel for cars, but they won’t be as fast as gas powered. I also can’t control all the car manufacturing companies, so that may be difficult.

Julius Caesar: Have you considered a government owned car manufacturing company?

President Bush: No, actually I haven’t

Julius Caesar: If you start a car business you can manufacture hydrogen powered cars and sell them to your citizens. You can also make money by selling them to other countries.

President Bush: Yes, Julius, but that might have some faults in it.

Julius Caesar: Like I’ve been saying throughout this conversation: It’s worth a try.

President Bush: Now for our next topic: political corruption

Julius Caesar: I don’t see much political corruption yet. Since the US is a republic that allows citizens to vote for leaders, the process of political corruption is not likely to happen. However, just to make sure, I would set a law for politicians to at least retake 2 years of school after a couple of years of work. This can help refresh their memories and remind them what their job is really about.

President Bush: That is a marvelous idea, Caesar! The law can help the politicians become better at their job by refreshing their memories through 2 years of school!

President Bush: That leads us to our final topic. Please give me some advice on how to stop environmental and public health problems.

Julius Caesar: Environmental problems are high in America. Many businesses are chopping down trees to make paper and houses. Factories are polluting the air with greenhouse gases and destroying the environment. As for public health problems, it gets worse. Hospital bills are climbing higher and higher, leaving some families bankrupt. In 2020, the amount of elderly in America will increase by 40%. The more elderly the more senior centers you will have to invest money. You must not let this happen, and here’s how. Let’s start with the paper. I bet there are many other ways to create a type of artificial paper without wood. Invest some money on this. You also don’t have to waste wood on houses! Use tile or cement! There is no need to waste precious trees on homes. For the hospital bills, lower prices for medical treatment. Most of your money you earn is not from hospital treatments, so it shouldn’t hurt to lower bills. For our seniors, start building senior centers now. It will save lives in the future.

President Bush: Thank you very much for taking your time sharing these important steps on how to keep a country from falling. I very much appreciate it, Julius. I hope that someday your advice will save America. You are dismissed, Julius.
