When the U.S. President speaks, people typically listen. But when the current President speaks, what usually follows is a collective cringe.

While George W. Bush will not go down as the most brilliant U.S. President, he certainly has given us plenty to laugh about. Here is a collection of Web sites that have text and links to some of the most hilarious utterances to come from the mouth of Bush.

Hereyou can find a good collection of the most current Bushisms along with links to the top 10, video of Bush himself, and links to other Bush funny stuff. Among the more recent additions: “Let’s make sure that there is certainty during uncertain times in our economy.” — George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., June 2, 2008.

The Complete Bushisms at Slate are nicely organized with links included to the video in case you have doubt that our Commander in Chief actually said such inane remarks. Of course, it’s pretty funny to watch him sink into further and further. Included at Slate is this nugget: “I’ll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office.”-Washington, D.C., May 12, 2008.

The Truth About Georgeis another hilarious site that maintains many of the best Bushisms, such as: “You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.” Source: United Press International, “Bush Proposes Increase in Education Funds,” Mark Kukis, Feb. 21, 2001.

Don’t Vote for Georgehas Bushisms organized by history, geography, economics, foreign relations and other funny categories such as “angry young man Bushism” and “man with a past Bushism.”
