Adventures of a Married Man: A Day at the Office
He tells his stories based on real life events. If you are a married man, it may sound familiar.
He was just putting the finishing touches on a great day at the office. He had finally finished the production report that had him busy all week. His boss was anxious to see it. The cool air outside whispering the end of the summer completed the Friday afternoon bliss. News reports told of a great Saturday. He thought about the clubs in the back of his car. He hadn’t played a round with his boss all year and this was just the opportunity to get him out prior to the cold weather closing his access to the game for the season.
“Here’s that report, boss,” he practiced. “Now how about teeing off at around 9am tomorrow?”
Comfortable at the planned approach, he closed the binder and felt it in his hands. He was proud of the accomplishment. Before rising from his office chair, he felt compelled to pick up the voice-mail that was annoyingly flashing red for the past half hour.
“Hi, dear,” the familiar voice spoke. “There is great weather tomorrow, so I thought it would be a good day to start decorating the yard for the fall. We need to get the hay bales and buy some mums. Oh, and I also told my sister to stop by tomorrow afternoon. You can show her how to work that new digital camera she bought last week. See you tonight.”
He hung up the receiver and reviewed the report one last time for errors. He was just putting the finishing touches on a lousy day at the office.
