Day Off

Many years ago when I was working in real estate, this little gem was being passed around the office. Now I don’t know where it originated or who the author is, so I reckon it’s OK to pass it around again.
If anyone does know of it’s origins, to would be nice to know.

This has been calculated for and translated into the Ozzie and Kiwi language.

So you want the day off. Let’s take a look at what you are asking for.

There are 365 days per year available for work.

There are 52 weeks per year in which you already have 1 and 1/2 days off per week leaving 287 days available for work.

Since you spend 16 hours of each day away from work, you have used up 170 days, leaving only 117 days available.

You spend 30 minutes each day on coffee breaks that accounts for 23 days, leaving only 94 days available.

You have one hour for lunch each day. So now you have used up another 46 days, leaving only 48 days available for work.

You normally spend 7 days a year on sick leave.

This leaves only 41 days available for work.

We have 12 public holidays a year, so your available working time is down to 29 days.

We generously give you 28 days annual leave which leaves only 1 day available for work and I’ll be dammed if you are going to take that day off too!

IS THIS YOU?

P.S. If you still want a day off, make sure your boss doesn’t see this.
