Zombie Outbreak, and How to Survive
This article will detail how to dispatch the walking dead, where to hide, proper barricading techniques and acceptable accouterments for general survival.
When the walking dead stumble your way, you have two options, run or go through them. Both have their benefits but neither is suitable for all occasions. The first and possibly most important survival technique is decision making. Without a sound mind or a leader, without one you will most surely fail. Now the horde is slow, they arent smart and most certainly not agile. Which means the only thing they have going with them is numbers. This is a huge factor in choosing your to turn tail and run or weave through them. Obviously the less number of zombies the better chance for going through them will be.
How to escape.
Now if you choose to run away due to a large infestation you will run into problems, you will get away undoubtably for a time, but unlike humans zombies do not have to rest. Also they smell flesh, which means that when your resting they are still tracking you slowly but surely. If you do not keep moving you will be caught eventually. The reason this dosnt happen with the method of going through works well is that the scent of fresh flesh is muddled with that of the rotting making it much harder for the dead to dicern your scent from their own.
Where to hide.
Some of the best places to stay are multiple story buildings with destructible stairways and department stores. When in a home that has a second story the best course of action is to take rations, ladders, weapons and whatever else you may need upstairs and destroy the stairs after your ascent.
Pros: No zombie will be able to get you.
You will be in the comfort of your own home.
You are not advertising your location.
Cons: You will run out of rations eventually and have to leave.
Your chances of rescue are lessened due to being discreet unless you have communication.
Department stores are for those who are ready for a fight, those who arent afraid of action. The best ones to go to are hardware stores with as little windows as you can find. This will make for easy barricading and more security. You WILL NOT be discreet and you will need to be ingenius with your creations withe the tools and hardware inside. The most prime spot would be a hardware store with grocery store adjacent to it. If you can secure both and keep them both sustained you can bridge the top of the two buildings and have almost a compound.
Pros: Big open spaces with plenty of weapons and materials.
Easly spotable for rescue.
Cons: You will be found out.
You will encounter zombies you will need to kill before you can inhabit it.
You need more people to make this work.
Weapons.
You want heavy, long and unbendable objects. This is if you intend to smash the skulls of the zombies. Golf clubs, though they are long and give you reach, they can bend very easy and most likely wont do the job, something like a big crow bars are great, you can puncture the skull easily but removal will be difficult. The best weapon or my weapon of choice is some type of one handed sword, it should be long, sharp and very sturdy.
Hopefully what you have read will hope you survive when the dead decide to rise up against us surface walkers. Best of luck.
