Coffee with Kofi, Mr. President?

This may not be true but I did find it very funny.

A few years ago there were a lot of what became known as ‘Bushisms’ floating around the internet and appearing in various email boxes and on websites. I must confess that some of these were often made up and so ridiculous that they ceased to be amusing. At least to me they did.

The following tale is one that I came across while doing some research on another project. It made me laugh so much that I had to relate it here.

Is it true? Well, probably not, but who knows?

Imagine the scenario: The President is in conference with one of his high ranking advisers.

Mr President: Tell me, who is the President of China?

Adviser: Hu is.

Mr President: That’s what I asked you. Who is?

Adviser: Hu is, Mr President.

Aside:(Hu Jintao is the president of China, but YOU knew that didn’t you?)

Mr President: (Becoming exasperated) Tell me, who is the president of China?

The conversation goes round and round until the Adviser gets sick of it.

Adviser: Let’s call Kofi (Meaning Kofi Annan, United Nations Secretary General that was)

Mr President: Great idea, yes, let’s have coffee.

I would not be surprised if it was true. After all the stumbles he has made that I have heard on TV and read in the papers. We must face the fact that President Bush is not a very smart man. If he were we wouldn’t be in Iraq right now.
