Spam! Spam! Spam! This is the Spam article! Oh, hurray, finally at last the spam article. What is spam? I’m about to tell you.
Spam was created in 1937 and manufactured by Hormel Foods.
It is often referred to as, “Something Posing as Meat.” Spam is made from pork, and come in different varieties, such as chicken and turkey. It is very popular in Guam and Hawaii, and ninety million can are sold every year in the United States. It is a precooked meat product, and some common ways of preparing Spam in frying, grilling and baking.
Spam is sometimes referred to as mystery meat. It is a precooked processed meat, which is no mystery at all. The classic Spam is made from pork, ham, salt, sugar and water. It also has potato starch and sodium nitrite and is usually prepared in a frying pan and then made into a sandwich.
The name was invented by a man who entered a contest held by Hormel to rename their Hormel Spiced Ham product. It has earned its place in the pop culture hall of fame for spawning many urban legends about its mysterious contents, but also for its unusual name.
Monty Python pushed Spam into the forefront with a funny sketch. It takes place at a diner where everything on the menu comes with Spam. The word Spam was repeated into oblivion which led to the term being used to describe unwanted email messages, and further, unsolicited ad heavy web content. In that context, spam is spelled without capital S.

Good article. I grew up eating Spam and have enjoyed it for years.
Goes wonderful in an omelet and you can add some crushed pineapple, brown sugar and a dash of clove and bake it for a wonderful meal. It is very high in sodium though. I enjoyed reading this and it was not at all what I expected when I opened the link. Good writing.
