Chained Gifts Craziness
Have you ever received something that you didn’t intend on receiving as a gift? You do not really like the gift but you have to smile and grin as if it was the best thing you’ve ever gotten. You go and put it “Away” in your storage closet and wait until another occasion occurs to give to someone else. Well this is what pisses me off about situations like this…
You re-wrap the gift and give it to someone else. Now if you are going to re-wrap something, do not have it looking horrible! It is bad enough you are giving a present given to you by someone else. I do not recommend chain presents because if it is something that you didn’t like, chances are the person you are giving the present to isn’t going to like it either.
If you were to receive a diamond necklace as a present, I bet you would not even think twice about giving that away so why give the less important, inexpensive away?
I could understand if you have a microwave already and you receive one as a gift then you can give it away but why as a gift? Why not just give it because you already have 1?
I have received a chain gift 3 days ago from one of my best friends but the gift given to me was from my best friends cousin (which was at my little party). I opened the gift and once I opened it and showed it off, I see my best friend start acting weird. It was a mirror clock
and that is when the drama started. I just sat back and grinned as they argued. I said to myself, “I have to write about this”!
This is why you should be cautious when giving chained gifts!

I don’t do chain gifts and I never open FWD mail.
I hate the idea of gifts anyway. Especially all the wrapping…it sucks. Why can’t it be just a here you go….thought you might like this. Chain gifts are like chain mail. You chuck it and never think twice about it. Especially the scented soaps and Avon chain gifts my wife get’s all of the time. They clog the linen closet until about 6 months and I just give them a good heave. Funny little story. Liked it!
I often get presents that don’t fit me or that I have already got..hehehehehahaha..pisses me off too..I just give ‘em away to people I know that will look after ‘em and need ‘em..good write Diverseblogger

I thought your article was interesting. I admit though that I do re-gift some things. I could start a collection up on the bath gift sets that my family on my mother’s side give me for Christmas. I do make sure that I don’t give it back to them though. I’ll give it to people on my father’s side of the family. LOL! I think my aunt gave my sister and me coats that were re-gifts so I didn’t feel so bad about doing that with her gifts. LOL!
True and funny article. I never give chain gifts. If I don’t like it, I’ll keep it anyway or give it to someone who wants or needs it.

Your work always makes me smile D because you hit home so well and you come up with excellent ideas that usually aren’t even contemplated until you bring them up such as this.So very true! I hate chain gifts and it is as you said if you don’t like it then chances are the next person isn’t going to!You must have had a great laugh when you watched the chain gift drama unfold,I sure would have but definately would have felt a bit weird being the one recieving it and watching as two friends fight because of it. Excellent work and as always a very enjoyable read!!
