Five Things One Shouldn’t Do While Driving
Here are five things that increase the likelihood of accidents. Please don’t do any of these while driving. Some are my actual experiences, I’ve been driving for over twenty years now.
Do not text message while driving.
A lot of accidents happen if you text message while driving. A recent United Kingdom commercial shows a simulation of a really bad accident that was caused because the driver was text messaging while driving.
Do not change clothes while driving.
I did this before when I was younger. Granted I was young, fearless and kind of stupid. I just came from a lawn tennis game and my shirt was drenched with sweat. I was in the car driving, and trying to take my shirt off. Next thing I knew, I had rammed a post. Post wins – game, set and match.
Do not try to fix yourself up while driving.
Sure we all want to look good. When driving, you have easy access to your rearview mirror. Do not use it to fix your hair, eyebrows, or check if your make up is nice. Do it when you aren’t driving. Otherwise your face may change a lot, because before you know it, you’ve already figured in an accident, and your face may take the brunt of it.
Do not sleep while driving.
Ever try to drive without having slept the entire night? It becomes terribly difficult doesn’t it? I’ve done it, and if I hadn’t had someone beside me, I’d probably have had another accident. My chin was literally resting on my neck at times, because I couldn’t keep my head up. I told my friend…”keep talking to me”… he did, just to prevent me from falling asleep. When we got to the place where we had to be, I took a two hour nap in the car, I knew I couldn’t go on driving without sleep.
Do not look at pretty women while driving.
I almost hit a car because of this. I was driving on the middle of the road, then a group of fine looking women were walking along the side of the road. It took long enough but I stared at them for awhile, when my head turned back to look on the road, there was a car right in front of me. Good thing I was able to swerve to avoid hitting it. Sounds good enough for a commercial, a funny one…
That ends my list. Avoid these, and the likelihood of accidents diminishes greatly.
