Fun with Advertising Slogans- Part One

Does the word “Advertising Slogan” conjures up anything familiar in your mind? Did any favorite of yours suddenly slipped through your lips? Did the slogan you were thinking of immediately remind you of the company who associated with the slogan? Take a break from what you are doing and give me a moment.

Introduction

Have you a good memory for advertising slogans? I was browsing the web when I chanced upon a site with many slogans. I thought to myself these are treasures. Each slogan can be used for some positive action. I thought to myself why don’t I string them into a form of a passage to encourage you? I guess this is my feeble attempt at creative writing.

Slogans are usually used as advertising catch phrases by companies to differentiate themselves from their competitors. There are many cleverly worded slogans available.  One characteristic of slogan is that the simpler it is, the easier it will be for consumers to remember, especially if it is catchy and funny. The other characteristic is slogans are all positive phrases.

That’s how the following letter (quiz) comes about. Many, meaning more than the digits of your hands, company slogans are hidden in the letter. The letter serves as an encouragement to those who read it in the quest to succeed. This is the more difficult version of the quiz.  See if you can achieve the following:

  1. Identify the slogan
  2. Name the company to which the slogan belongs

Some companies have evolved their slogans, so the one clue I provide is that a company may appear more than once in the letter or that the slogans may not be the latest. To start things off, I will give you the first one: “Hello Moto!” is a slogan belong to Motorola. You figure out the rest. Words marked in ‘*’s are direct instances of the company name, so they are clues by themselves.

Are you ready?

The Letter

Hello Moto,

Are we a bunch of people who wants to get ahead in life? I am sure we are and to that we’ll say we make money the old-fashioned way….we earn it. While we believe in the power of dreams, with the money you earn, let’s make things better because you’re worth it, and you choose to be all that you can be. To begin our journey, to each we must first ask “where do you want to go today?”  We could drive our car, but I think the car in front is a ****** too. We are taking you more personally. And shift the way you move! We will need to think different, wield our imagination at work, go online, and others will say welcome to the human network where everything is information driven. We’ll conquer the world’s online market place. We’ll cause an upheaval, we’ll buy it, sell it, love it because we believe life’s good, and we are going to live a life like no other.
