Hoon Drivers Just Keep on Hooning Around

Here’s an article in which I wrote about hoon drivers and just how they are getting me really annoyed.

I don’t know about you, but I am just really starting to get really sick and annoyed about young people who drive over the speed limit, thinking they are invincible and not abiding by our laws.

Young people, I feel just don’t care about driving speeds in our country.  Of course, I do not want to put down those young people who do the right thing and drive at or below the speed limit, however I do believe the age that you are allowed to drive in our country, should be changed.

Currently in South Australia, the legal age you are allowed to start learning how to drive is 16.  You then are required to complete 50 hours of driving, including 10 hours of night time driving.  Once you have completed this, you then are allowed to sit a driver’s test with a qualified driving instructor.

The 50 hours of driving, must be completed with a fully licensed driver sitting in the passenger seat of a car.  However it does not have to be completed with a qualified driving instructor, but it is advised that you do at some point in time have lesions with a driving instructor.  ‘

These 50 hours of driving can be completed on any road surface in any conditions.  I am currently a learner driver, learning how to drive here in South Australia and I am going to make sure that I know all of the road rules and have driven in all road conditions before I decide to go for my P’s  (Provisional Drivers Licence,) where I will be able to drive unaccompanied.

Personally I think the road laws need to be changed.  Being able to drive on all road surfaces in all conditions should be a requirement.
