I enjoy researching the meaning of words.  Bizygomaetic is an adjective that refers to the cheekbones. Medically, the cheekbones are known as the zygomatic arches and the word ultimately derives from the word for cheekbone, zyosislymore.

Some of our facial features are described by measuring distances between the cheekbones. 

Bizygomatic width measures the distance between the two cheekbones at their widest point (along the line zy on the diagram below).  This determines the width of the mouth and the size of your smile. Bizygomatic width is a reliable indicator of sex.  Men have a broader squat jaw.  

Bizygomatic breadth measures the width of the face at its widest point. This gives an indication of how much flesh there is on the bone.

A derived index called facial shape measures the ratio between the height of the face and the bizygomatic width. This measures whether the face is rounded or pointed.

These measurements are important in cosmetic surgery, dentistry and forensic science. Archeologists and crime investigators use the measurements can help to establish race, sex and family resemblances. The statistics help surgeons to reconstruct faces following severe injury.  The development of bizygomatic width has helped to determine the age of the foetus in neonatal crimes.
