These are the coolest world records, associated with the expense of many of items, which exist. These World Records include the world’s most expensive: human skull, very skimpy diamond bikini (with model), perfume bottle, mushroom, painting, cell phone, license plate, palace, sundae, and Ferrari.
World’s Most Expensive Hotel (Palace)
This is the Emirates Palace 7-star “hotel”. Its building cost has not been disclosed but is estimated to be as much as much as 4 billion dollars. Located in Abu Dhabi this luxurious palace has pairs of 61” plasma TVs, along with touch screen room controls, personal butlers, and Jacuzzis in every room. An imported Australian sand beach, 1 mile in length, makes up the palace’s beachfront. Golden ceilings cover the palace and are adorned with over 1000 Swarovski crystal chandeliers. The palace contains many world record breaking enormous structures, such as the Grand Atrium dome, one of 114 in the palace, larger than that of Saint Peter’s Basilica. Over 1000 staff members are required to operate the hotel, which is not surprising seeing as it also boasts 1 million square feet of imported marble; the start of which is the Emirates Palace Archway, made of Italian stone, and larger than the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Outside the marble palace, its 600 acres of exotic park grounds are covered in over 8,000 trees and 200 fountains. The palace’s private heliport is active outdoors as well. In the hotel over 20,000 roses are used daily throughout the hotel and its grounds; in all 20 restaurants, and in both the spas and both outdoor luxury pools as well.
World’s Most Expensive Painting
This painting, “No. 5”, 1948 by Jackson Pollock was reportedly sold for $150,000,000, after the inflation adjustment, to David Martinez, the managing partner of Fintech Advisory Ltd, in a private sale by David Geffen, founder of Geffen Records and co-founder of Dreamworks SKG. The sale was, however, never confirmed by either party. Also note that this is the most expensive painting sold and that the Mona Lisa is still the most expensive in terms of insurance (at over half a billion dollars).
World’s Most Expensive Piece of Modern Art
This diamond encrusted pure platinum skull (2156 grams of platinum in 32 individual plates, welded together by lasers) was created by Damien Hurst. Costing $98,000,000 to make, this extraordinary piece of art, entitled, “For the Love of God”. The skull is covered inside and out in 8,601 sparkling diamonds and has a main stone that is a 52-carat pear-shaped diamond fixed upon its forehead, this stone is further bordered with 14 additional diamonds. The creation of the piece took 18 months of work by Bentley & Skinner and it is the largest diamond piece commissioned since the Crown Jewels. A real skull was used as the form for this contemporary piece of art.

i have eaten the world’s most expensive desert which is the diamond gold plated suman the so called “ti imas ti pinoy”…it has a stunning 5000 carats of diamond as a bring home garnish and is plated with 10 grams of 24 carat gold…..it is $5, 000, 000……
Oh my, they are really expensive. but there is also an ordinary ipod coated with diamond which is now considered as one of the most expensive gadget at present(I think). Great article!
