Shocking and Crazy Things of the World

Published by thumbnailpolaroid in Offbeat

This is some shocking and crazy things you would never imagine were real. Trust me, you don’t want to miss this.

Have you ever seen some things that you thought were completely crazy? Well you haven’t seen anything yet. Take a look at some of the crazy and shocking things I’ve found on the internet.

Day of Fertility

Hounen Matsuriis is a Japanese festival that takes place every year on March 15. Judging by the heading, you probably have an idea about what the festival is about; the ability to give life. The festival starts at about 10 a.m. and ends at approximately 4:30 p.m. A few hand picked thirty-six year old women carry around 20 inch wooden penises and a few hand picked men carry around a large hand carved, 8 feet long wooden penis (See picture below). People drink sake, an alcoholic drink, all day and celebrate the wonderful thing called fertility.

“Grass” Cup

Think you’re an expert of marijuana or just a big fan? Then this is for you! For the past 21 years, people have attended something called the Cannabis Cup, a ceremony created by Steven Hager, the editor of High Times Magazine (a magazine for people who love or are fascinated by weed). Of course, this is not held in America. It’s held in a small place called Amsterdam. At the festival, people “test” new varieties of weed to judge which one is the best. Free weed is often given out at this celebration. Because marijuana is legal in Amstedam, you’ll probably get pretty high from the great levels of THC in the marijuana. The next festival will be held on November 23 and will continue til November 27, 2008. Happy trails!

“No Horsing Around”

In some countries, there are crazy rules for horses. In one country, there is a sign that reads “Horses: Speed limit: 10mph; No pooping; No eating fire hydrants”. Don’t believe me, look at the picture below. I don’t know about you, but the horses I know can’t read so this would be a major problem.  I don’t know how they’d pay the fine since HORSES DON’T HAVE MONEY!!

“It’s Not Unusual…”

Tom Jones, singer of the hit song “It’s Not Unusual”, has reportedly had his chest hair insured. I don’t know about you but… ewww.
