Super Heroes Are Not That Original: Seven Beasts and Their Incredible Super Powers
X-Men and Justice League are small fry compared to those animals. Each one of these creatures has super abilities that humiliate us, mere Homosapiens.

Eagles

While us, simple humans, can barely see 50 yards in front of our noses, those magnificent creatures can easily see 400 yards ahead of them. While we see just blurs in moving targets, this raptor can locate and follow a moving object with high definition like in a plasma TV.

Bats

First of all, this little mammal can fly, what by itself is a great advantage over us, humans. I’m sorry, Clark Kent, but you don’t have the monopoly of flying among us, Earthlings. The bats were doing it way before you got here in your tiny spaceship.

But flying is not the only thing the bats can do. They have highly sensitive ears that allow them to distinguish higher frequency sounds, creating a kind of sonar. Thanks to this sonar, after yelling, those creatures can fly in the dark and hit nothing. I admit that Daredevil is cool and stuff, but he could achieve the same sonar effect he has, if he only carried half-dozen bats with him.

In that case, I believe that Bruce Wayne could use that trick, after all, he already has an affinity with bats. He could use a net and grab a few of them hanging around in the bat cave.

Migratory Birds

In the present days where we must split our 24 hours day between work, sleep, family and the thousand of menial activities that consume our entire days, it would be nice to have the superpower of those creatures. Migratory Birds can spend weeks without sleeping. Can you imagine what you could do with this eight extra hours? Well… those birds use the hours to migrate. Humans, on the other hand, can’t spend more than a couple days awake before showing signs of fatigue, exhaustion and possibly psychotic symptoms. Quite recently the Scientists developed a drug named Modafinil that can keep a person awake for 48 hours without collateral effects. Anyway, 48 hours is further less than “weeks”.

Dogs

Their only superpower is not being the man’s best friend. These gentle and lovable creatures have a smelling sense 1000 times more powerful than ours. They can smell, recognize and locate almost anything by its smell. While the human world is mostly visual, dogs have visual and also scent perception of reality. Wolverine keeps showing up saying: “I can smell this… I can smell that… that ridiculous villain had been here, because I can smell… smell… smell”. Any X-Men who wishes to have the same power only needs to buy a cocker spaniel.

Kangaroos

They are kind of cute, aren’t they? Well… kangaroos have a fantastic self-preservation ability. Whenever things are too hard, when there isn’t much food or a disease is spreading, mama kangaroo can interrupt the pregnancy and wait for better times. Imagine how many teenage mums wouldn’t have to drop high school if they could interrupt the pregnancy until after college.
-
Lizards

If you cut the leg of a lizard, it will grow up again in a little while. Lizards migrate stem cells to the damaged region, and those cells specialize and become a new leg. In Spiderman, the scientist Curt Connors attempts to copy this lizard ability, and try to re-grow his lost arm.

He not only grew an arm, but also grew a tail, sharp teeth and scales.

Sea Lions

This adorable creature is not only capable of being lovable, but also can hold the breath for 30 minutes underwater. The Antarctic sea lion has muscles filled with mioglobine that can retain a large amount of oxygen, allowing it to keep most of the blood in the brain. Now what, Aquaman? You are not that special, are you?

I didn’t know about Kangaroos being able to put their pregnancy on hold.
