A phobia is an unreasonable fear of something. Some phobias are better known than others. Here’s a look at some of the lesser known and most bizarre.

Some fears most people have heard of — like claustrophobia: a fear of small places or arachnophobia: a fear of spiders.  Some though are much lesser known and bizarre…

Apotemnophobia- Fear of persons with amputations.  With modern day prosthetics, people probably don’t even notice when others are amputees.  I can’t imagine that amputees have to put up with other people’s reactions on top of losing a piece of their body.

Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth.  You’d think this phobia could be cured pretty easily with a glass of milk.

Chionophobia- Fear of snow.  I wouldn’t said I’m afraid of snow but I definitely have a strong dislike of it!

Cibophobia- Fear of food.(Sitophobia, Sitiophobia)  In this age of rampant morbid obesity in the western world, a little of this might go an awful long way.

Cyberphobia- Fear of computers or working on a computer.  It’s safe to assume neither you or I have this particular phobia as I’m typing this into a computer and you’re eading it from one!!

Didaskaleinophobia- Fear of going to school.  This particular phobia is one that tends to crop up right at the end of August and the beginning of September…
