The Mona Lisa is perhaps the world’s most famous painting, but I bet you never noticed she has no eyebrows!
It’s true. Look! Leonardo Davinci painted the Monal Lisa, known as La Gioconda, in the 16th century. He painted it in Italy in 1503 or 1504, during the Renaissance period when it was fashionable for ladies to shave off their eyebrows. So, David Bowie was not the first when he was looking for an alien androgenous appearance and I doubt the actress who played Satan in Mel Gibson’t The Passion will not be the last to do it.
