Why not just give your past self information that would result in his/your permanent financial stability? You've got a time machine, for Heaven's sake! Personally the first thing I'd do is go back to the week of my birth and forbid my idiot father from lumbering me with such stupid name (My mother told me that he got it regiestered without even consulting her) I'd then force my parents to raise me differently and I'd appear periodically to my younger self as the older brother I never had, I'd prevent an incident that resulted in me getting injured. I'd stand in for my teenage self and cheat on examinations. Oh, I could have lost my virginity at thirteen years years old with a girl I liked, but I was far too stupid at the time to notice the signals. Assuming by this point I haven't messed up the time line too much, I'd tell my younger self what to do. The only drawback with all this time-fiddling is that my younger siblings might not end up being born, or I may end up with a completely different set of siblings, which could be a good or a bad thing.
