In many ways, we can watch the development of America recapitulated in the rise of China, albeit in a very uniquely Chinese way. We see a nation simultaneously moving through the industrial, information, and green revolutions. But what of the more rebellious, or simply desperate and downtrodden Chinese citizens? Will a subculture of Chinese counter-cultural vagabonds rise along with the star of Chinese companies? In these videos, we see a archetypal American past time pursued by Chinese citizens, of greatly varying social class and purpose.

Being an educated man, I found this piece interesting with its contrast of historical background and sometimes humorous pictures and videos. I thought it would only be fair to show that other countries have the same kind of verbal brickbats being tossed around in their history, too.

Zecharia Sitchin, easily the world’s greatest living scholar, takes up the long unanswered scientific riddle of sudden human progress, and answers it with the full force of his research findings. This is the first of a 5-part article series sharing the highlights of Sitchin’s 15-chapter The Twelth Planet (1976).
