The carnivorous plants, otherwise called the insectivorous plants, are known for their ability to trap and digest insects. Altogether over 450 species of carnivorous plants have been discovered. About 30 species are found in India.

Because human beings are increasing in numbers and are also increasing their needs, they are using up earths resources and destroying the environment very quickly. The way to use resources sensibly for the good of mankind is called conservation.
