Here’s One for Ripley’s Believe It or Not
Ripley’s Believe It or Not is a franchise founded by Robert Le Roy Ripley (1890-1949), dealing in bizarre events so strange and unusual that readers might question the claims. I wonder what Mr. Ripley would think of this!

A pregnant woman needed a tonsillectomy due to repeated tonsillitis and strep throat. Her gynecologist approved the operation as long as a local anesthetic was used instead of general anesthesia to ensure the safety of the unborn fetus.
While preforming the operation, the doctor slipped and cut off her uvula. This is the little conic projection attached to the soft palate at the back of the throat.

Besides an unusually long healing time, their were no other ill effects of this medical mishap. The woman gave birth to a healthy normal baby girl.
Eight years later, the woman became pregnant again. As before she gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Her daughter was normal in every way except for one minor difference. She was born with two uvulas!
This in itself is rare but not unheard of. But the fact that the mother lost hers and then have a baby born with two, makes this seem like more than just a coincidence.
How do I know this story to be true? It happened to me!
