You should stick with soft drinks or beer. And not too much beer at that. There is little point in drinking alone and clearly you have no one to impress. You don’t want to end up breaking heads at the end of the night if your team loses. Instead of focusing on what you’re drinking focus on the game. Drinking hard liquor definitely sends the wrong message. Unless you like people to think you’re an alcoholic.

Friends drinking together should start of with beer. Beer is the male bonding beverage of choice. Drinking beer sends the message: ” we’re just a couple of guys having a good time”. Not only is it tasty and refreshing it offers a simple and endless topic of discussion. If you are playing cards you might want to drink whiskeys to set the mood. Later on in the evening you can then progress to drinking shots. Tequila or vodka are both excellent for this purpose. Shots allow you to add an element of competition and the subsequent intoxication can help overcome the emotional repression so many men experience. This in the end allows a degree of closeness and belonging men do not otherwise feel except maybe on the playing field.

For intimacy there is wine. Champagne is often indicated for this purpose, but it does not have the class and power of a good red. Drinking red wine while gazing in each others eyes allows serious sultry romance quite different from the giggly platitudes brought on by champagne. Wine can be followed by port or sherry allowing sweet overtones to be introduced which invariably lead to lingering kisses. To introduce a clear taste top it of with a shot of vodka before you commence your lovemaking.

For those who are on the prowl a clear drink is indicated such as a vodka Martini or a gin and tonic. Clear drinks indicate purity and single mindedness of purpose. A Martini glass gives of an air of elegance, the olive is optional and should under no circumstances be consumed unless by the woman you are courting. The gin and tonic can be drunk from a straight glass indicating you are a straight shooter. Once you have made contact you can join the ladies in drinking white wine although a white Russian might be preferable. If you want to opt for fun you can join the ladies in cocktails. Stay with your Martini if you want to keep playing it cool. This is as far as the drinks take you, the rest is up to you.
