The Honesty Test: Has Honesty Lost Its Value?

Take this quick, easy test to see if you value honesty! What situations would you lie in?
Part 1
- Would you lie to get out of a sticky situation?
- Do you feel if you can get by with it, it really is OK to do (as long as you don’t get caught).
- Do you cheat on taxes?
- If a clerk mistakenly gave you too much money back, would you take it without speaking up?
If you answered yes to any of these, it may seem that honesty is of little value to you…but hold on, take Part II of the test before deciding.
Part 2
- Do you look at an eBay’s seller’s rating before you order?
- Do you look at hotel reviews before booking a hotel?
- If you bought a car that turned out to be a lemon, would you expect to get your money back?
- If a clerk does not give you enough money back, do you speak up and ask for it?
If you answered yes to any of these, you DO value honesty. When it affects you, it takes on a whole different meaning. You want people to be honest TO you.
If you value honesty, take steps to be more honest with others. Try telling the truth in situations where, if the situation were reversed, you would want that person to be honest to you.
Sure, it might be hard at first to give up whatever benefits lying might bring, but the benefits of telling the truth are much greater! You will gain a reputation of being trustworthy and that will help you in your relationships, business deals, and even your health.

Very good point to tell people that this society need honesty. Things will be troubled when honesty is losing its value.
Standing on your word has basically disappeared over time. And you know what? Things are going to get worse! How sad for our children and grands. It so important to teach them honesty. this is a very good article. Food for thought!!!

If only everyone would use honesty and made the right choices our world wouldn’t be so messed up like it is today.
Good article – - honesty is EXTREMELY important all the way around. Whatever you put out into the world comes back to you. When you are honest about things that affect you and others, people can sense that you are a trustworthy person and you get further in life than you could otherwise. You must be what you want in this world. If you want others to be honest and good to you when your back is turned, you must be that way to others.
