10 Facts That You May Not Know!

Might be useless information, might be interesting, however here are some facts that could shock you and facts you may have never know about!

1. In the United Kingdom, swearing is against the law. This may sound hard to believe but in-fact it is true. Even though people swear like there is no tomorrow in the UK, you will get warned by the police if you do swear. If you carry on, you can get arrested. So make sure, you think before you open your mouth.

2. Rats can live without water longer than camels can.

3. Chewing gum actually increases brain power and keeps you concentrating. This is done by blood pumping up into your brain faster and therefore helps you remember facts more easily. So next time you get caught chewing gum at your school or at the office! :-)

4. If you are left handed, you tend to chew your food on the left hand side of your mouth. If you are right handed, you tend to chew your food on the right hand side of you mouth.

5. Depending on which side you sit on the bus, depends on which ear you like listening with. If you sit on the right hand side of the bus you like to listen with your left ear. If you sit on the left hand side on the bus you like to listen with your right ear. This however is not always the case if all the places are taken on the bus. Next time you go on the bus, walk down the aisle and you will feel like you are drifted to one side of the bus. If you sit on the other side you will find you are not comfortable.

6. Sneezing causes some of your brain cells to die.

7. If you kill a swan in Britain, you could face the death penalty. Even though in the UK the death penalty has been abolished, no matter where you are in Britain (UK, Australia etc.) you could get charged with the death penalty. This is because the Queen owns all of the swans in Britain, and therefore if you kill a swan it is classed as treason. Don’t believe me that treason holds the death penalty? Watch Johnny English. Depending on whether you would get the death penalty however is another matter entirely.

8. Whips make a sound because its moving faster than the speed of sound. Who ever thought your arm could have so much power.

9. A giraffe can clean its ears out with its tongue.

10. Your stomach has to create a layer of mucus every two weeks. Guess what happens if it didn’t? It would have to digest itself.

Wow, these facts are pretty impressive! I did know that the Queen owned all of the swans and that swearing is against the law in the UK (because I live there) and I think I know a few people who got done in for swearing at the cops but some of the others here are pretty weird and wonderful! Well researched and a superb article!

Great article! More reason to chew gum now. lol. I love swans. But anyhow, it doesn’t surprise me that people will get the death penalty for killing these beautiful animals because that is considered animal cruelty. As for sneezing, I can understand why it would cause brain cells to die. who knows if by holding your nose to sneeze or if you sneeze too loud. I usually cover my nose when I have to sneeze. lol. and very impressive that giraffes can clean its ears out with their tongue. I am assuming they must have long tongues.
