Here are a few shards of knowledge that you possibly don’t know, and maybe don’t need to know!

  1. “A spoonful of sugar keeps the hiccups down” has been proven to be true!(for some people).
  2. An average male consumes about a ton of food every year.
  3. The average human nose is only able to detect about 20 basic odors.
  4. There are about three and a half times as many countries north of the equator as there are south of it.
  5. The largest tomb on Earth is 485.8m (1594 ft) long, 304.8m (1000 ft) wide, and 45.7m (150 ft) high.
  6. The winter of 1925 was so cold in Canada that the Niagara Falls were completely frozen!
  7. If it were possible to fly an airplane to the moon, it would take about 2 and a half weeks.
  8. The first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel was a 40 year old teacher trying to commit suicide!
  9. The Earth weighs approximately 6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 tonnes.
  10. The Baltic Sea is the least salty sea in the world.
  11. There are about 1600 rivers in China, and about 300 lakes.
  12. Snow sometimes falls on the mountains in the Sahara Desert.
  13. The wheel was invented at about 3000 BC.
  14. The ancient Chinese and Japanese enjoyed the sound of insect “music”, and some actually kept their own special performing grasshoppers.
  15. “Henry the eighth he had six wives.

    Two were beheaded and one survived!”
  16. A dragonfly can catch its prey by formings its legs into the shape of a basket.
  17. About 30% of the human body consists of muscle.
  18. The British Stock Exchange began in a London coffee house.
  19. The tomato is a vegetable.
  20. I just wasted 30 mins writing this pointless article!
  21. If any of these facts are slightly in accurate, it is not my fault!

    good list, though i dont agree with a tomato being a vegetable. its clearly a fruit, although it is used as a vegetable much of the time.

    um tomatoes are a fruit and a vegetable since fruit is a class of vegetable so hahahahahahahahahaha
