Asia is the world’s largest continent. It covers 30 percent of the earth’s land area. The population of Asia is bigger than all the other continents put together.

Australia is the smallest continent. It is generally referred to as down under as it lies below the equator, in the earth’s southern hemisphere.

Africa is the second largest continent covering about 1/5th of the earth’s land area. It includes 53 countries, six of which are islands.

Europe is the second smallest of the world’s seven continents. It has 45 countries, including parts of Russia, Turkey and Kazakhstan.

 Russia is the largest country of which 75 percent is in Asia and the rest in Europe.

China is the second largest country in the world. It is the nation with the largest population. Almost a quarter of the earth’s people live in china.

Vatican City is the smallest country in Europe and the world as well. Maldives is the smallest country in Asia.

Among all African countries Sudan is the largest while Seychelles is the smallest.

Elephants spend as much as 20 hours of a day eating.

The African elephant is taller and bigger than the Asian elephant. It has larger ears and trunks. The ears of a full-grown African elephant are about 5 to 6 feet long and 4 feet wide. The tusks grow at about 7 inches a year and attain a total length of about 20 feet.

The seed of the double coconut or coco de mer is the largest seed in the world. The seed of this single seeded fruit may weigh up to 20 kilograms.

There are more than 7,500 different kinds of grass. Rice and wheat are kinds of grass, the grains of which are used as food.
