The African elephant is taller and bigger than the Asian elephant. It has larger ears and trunks. The ears of a full-grown African elephant are about 5 to 6 feet long and 4 feet wide. The tusks grow at about 7 inches a year and attain a total length of about 20 feet.
The seed of the double coconut or coco de mer is the largest seed in the world. The seed of this single seeded fruit may weigh up to 20 kilograms.
There are more than 7,500 different kinds of grass. Rice and wheat are kinds of grass, the grains of which are used as food.
