Energy and How It is Used

About different types of energies and how they are used.

Firstly a major rule of energy is that Energy can’t be created or destroyed. You may think this a bit strange but it is true, energy can only be changed from one form to another.

The Nine Different Types Of Energy:

  1. Heat (or thermal).
  2. Kinetic (or movement).
  3. Sound.
  4. Light.
  5. Nuclear.
  6. Electrical.
  7. Strain.
  8. Chemical.
  9. And Gravitational.

Processes And Energy Changes

This section is about energy changes. a good example of an energy change is if you take a piece of wood and set it on fire. This is commonly known as burning the wood but it is really a lot more complex. When heat energy is applied to the wood it reacts with the chemical energy contained within it. This changes the chemical into heat energy, light energy and a little bit of sound energy.

The most abundant form of energy is heat energy and the only reason there is light and sound energy is because they are waste energies. All energy changes have waste energy no matter what. A good example of this is a light bulb. As it changes electrical energy into light energy there are two waste energies, they are heat energy and slight sound energy.
