Liana, Not Jane, Was Tarzan’s First Love

Published by JK Kristie in Science

When Jane came into Tarzan’s life, he still continued his love affair with Liana and Jane was totally aware of it. Here’s why.

The Liana is a vine or creeper that dangles down from trees in the rain forest. It is so strong that forest animals such as monkeys can use lianas to swing through the trees. The vine is actually a very strong stem from any of the different long-stemmed woody vines that are rooted in the soil at ground level and use trees, as well as other means of vertical support, to climb up to the canopy in order to get access to sunlight, thus its leaves are above the trees.
