Rattle snakes.

Rattle snakes live in North America and South America. Rattle snakes are usually live in southwestern California. Their habitats are grasslands, rocky hills, meadows, deserts, and swamplands. Their scales are made of the same material that our fingernails are made of. When rattle snakes vibrate their rattles create a hissing noise to scare hoofed animals and other predators. They have a “pit” on either side of its head, a heat-sensitive organ locating its prey. Rattle snakes do not lay eggs in nests. They give birth to live young. This reproduction is known as ovoviviparous. It means the rattle snake hatches the egg inside the body. Female rattle snakes do that every two years and carry the egg for about 30 days. Baby rattle snakes have more toxic venom than an adult rattle snake. Their main preys are mouse, rat, ground squirrel, and rabbit. It flicks it tongue to smell. Even when dark, rattle snakes can see animals with its heat sensitive pits on the side of its head. Rattle snakes don’t need to eat until two weeks depended on their last meal.  Rattle snakes are in critical risk.
