Snakes are reptiles who crawl on there belly’s. Snakes are sometimes referred to as serpents. According to the bible snakes used to have legs until one of them deceived eve and then the serpent/snake was forced to crawl on its stomach.

Snakes eat rats/mice. Some snakes are dangerous and some are not. A harmless snake is the garden snakes. Garden snakes are green and can be found in grassy areas. Garden snakes do not grow very big and do not bite or spite venom. venom is the poison snakes can spite on you to paralyze you long enough for them to bite or to constrict you.

The predator of snakes are hawks. Hawks often swoop down and pick up snakes in there beak and carry them away to be eaten. Snakes have no back bone. Snakes are cold blooded reptiles. They lay eggs and have scales on there body

Some snakes can blend in with there surroundings because of there color. For example the garden snake’s green color makes it difficult to find when its in a tall green grass area. If the garden snake was to go onto a side walk it would be easier to spot because it stands out.

Different snakes live in different environments. Water snakes obviously spend most of there time in the water but can come onto land. Vine snakes live in the forest and hang from tree’s like vines to fool its pray into thinking its a vine. Rattle snakes live in the desert and often if there is a rattlesnake near by you will here its tale shaking.

Not all snakes are like the garden snakes. Rattlesnakes are very harmful snake’s. They strike fast and with out a second thought. Almost all snakes never strike for no reason. Often people think snakes will attack them and began to scream or run away. when you do this it scares the snake and the snake tries to defend it’s self by attacking
